Gather as much information as possible before completing our online report form below. You will be asked to sign up for, or sign in to, your account before completing the form. 

Do not remove anything from the waste.

If you have found:

• Waste near or in a watercourse
• More than 5m3 of fibrous asbestos
• More than 75 litres of potentially hazardous waste in drums or containers
• More than 20 tonnes of waste

Contact the Environment Agency.

We are responsible for clearing up and collecting any waste left on public highways and public land. However, we cannot remove fly-tips from privately owned land. 

We will arrange a visit to the fly-tip site as soon as we are aware of it.

We will investigate all reports of fly tipping to try and find out who is responsible.

Fly-tipping is an offence with penalties of up to 5 years imprisonment and unlimited fines.

Instead of prosecuting, we may issue a Fixed Penalty Notice

Knowing who is taking your waste away and if they are authorised to do so can help to avoid fly-tipping.

If you are going pay someone to remove your waste, make sure you:

• Know where the waste is going
• Check the business/person has a valid licence
• Never pay cash
• Get a full receipt
• Note the details of the people and vehicles

Be wary of businesses that only operate through social media, do not seem to have a landline number or business address, and offer a very cheap cash deal. 

If your waste has been disposed of illegally and is traced back to you, you could be fined even if you had no idea it was going to be fly-tipped.
